That is a good way of putting it. The American people substituted hope and change for any rational qualifications for President. All one has to do is look at the way the stimulus and medical act were crafted and you can see what happens when you elect somebody completely lacking in executive experience. As far as I can tell all he did was come up with a price tag for the stimulus and then he let Reid and Pelosi do the rest.
We got stuck with a stand up philosopher (obscure Mel Brooks reference) instead of a leader.
