I’ve just finished listening to Obama’s speech, and most everyone posting on the thread has retired, so I suppose I will have one of the last words.

It seems fitting to end with Obama’s own last words-—passionate, loud, trying to soar, designed as a “go-down-in-history” quote/moment. I imagine him being demonically outside his own body. He’s got those cold, dead fish-eyes going on:

“America. I never said this journey would be easy, and I won’t promise that now. Yes, our path is harder [than what and why?], but it leads to a better place [where?]. Yes, our road is longer [why?], but we travel it together [as your hostages].

We don’t turn back; we leave no one behind. We pull each other up. We draw strength from our victories, and we learn from our mistakes.

But, we keep our eyes fixed on that destined horizon, knowing that PROVIDENCE is with us [sigh...keyword godandjerusalem], and that we are surely blessed to be citizens of the greatest nation on earth. [Although we know he remains a member of the “God-damn-America persuasion” -—if he believes in a fictional God of his own devising, or even a demonic Allah, at all].

Thank you. God bless you, and God bless these United States [excusable, expected, ritual political finish].

The speech ended like it began (with the same filler in between)-—empty rhetoric, fighting ghosts, strawmen opponents, stump-speech weary, bereft of ideas or solutions (that he can divulge).

Throughout his speech, I kept looking at Malia’s face and Malia’s face looking at her mother. They all want to leave. They want out, and they have hope that they are getting out.

To elaborate on a previous Freeper mylife post (1808) and my response to that post (1852), I almost get the distinct impression that Obama has negotiated/settled on the next step of his career path.

Uh, I hate to play the Hitler card, but do you realize that Hitler NEVER invoked the name of God when he talked about his destiny? Go look at the transcripts of his rantings in the last year of the war; it really picked up after the failed assassination attempt of July 20, 1944. He was convinced that “Providence” was guiding his life and would bring him victory.

Really, really creepy that 0bama would use the same term.
