Do you ever tell liberals that you're an African-American?

They sputter with rage and hatred when I do, especially when I point out that Nelson Mandela's African National Congress was designated a terrorist group by the State Department for decades. Then I'm promptly told that Afrikaners aren't real Africans, despite the fact they've been in South Africa since 1652. After that, I'm usually told the Afrikaners are "imperialist Europeans" and they should leave, and my usual reply they'll leave when the Arabs leave north Africa. As the finishing blow, I then remind the lib bigot that whites have been living on the African continent for thousands of years. (The Phoenicians, the Carthaginians, the Greeks, the Romans, the Vandals, the Iberians, etc.)

Growing up, my parents (who were lefties to the bone) used to tell me to keep this part of my heritage under my hat. No more. Like Popeye used to say, "I yam what I yam and that's all that I yam."
