well, for a Panthers game, concert or soccer match, the organizers wouldn’t be also paying for/cancelling hundreds of charter buses with free meals/drinks. I imagine the bus companies would demand payment for cancellation in under 24 hours

Apparently the DNC put Nagan in charge of buses.

10 cent beer night ... ahhhh the memories. Does Charlotte have a river somebody can set alight?
Which reminds me, holding the DNC in Cleveland, Detroit, Newark, or Jersey City would at least be a homecoming for them. And don't they care about helping out the people, places, and trade unions who are so forever loyal?

Here’s what local weatherman has to say.
https://mobile.twitter.com/#!/wxbrad
“there will be scattered storms during the afternoon but with the speech not until 10pm not an issue IMO”
“Thursday night will likely be the best weather of the entire week. Don’t blame them but could have called it earlier”
“My main point is if you were going to move inside for the small wx threat Thursday. You could have made that decision a week ago. IMO”

Time Warner Cable Arena, capacity: 20,200
Hmmmmm.
Per some other posts, there are some 5,000 delegates/families and 15,000 media types at the Convention.
That totals about 20,000.

Princess Elizabeth Warren was reportedly seen dancing in front of stadium. This was made possible when she declined to talk with reporters about her hairitage (not misspelled).

The second largest crowd to ever attend an event at Giants Stadium was 82,948, as Pope John Paul II celebrated Mass during a rainstorm on October 5, 1995.

More from local weatherman.
Severe threat is almost zero Thursday night & chance of rain is 20%. #cltwx

@joneesuz yes, but the risk is the same for any outdoor event nothing major here. Should never had said rain or shine then move it.

@golphur the situation has been improving day by day, so I could see making this decision earlier but today? Just odd.

And to think, the Panthers moved their practice to Florida this week. Obama could have used the bodies. Wouldn't have had to rent as many buses.I wonder where the buses are coming from? Hmmm.

Weather.com shows only small percent of isolated storms. Im sure that will be updated very soon to show tornado watches in effect for the Charlotte area tonite. It wouldnt surprise me at this point.
Me neither. Since Isaac is now gone, every time they give the "weather report", they somehow mention the DNC convention. TOO funny!!
