Unlike Woodstock, one would be hard pressed to find any evidence that the Burning Man event takes place in BRD every year. The organization that puts this event on takes great pride in leaving no trace behind. They thoroughly police themselves in terms of taking care of the environment.
I know. We all know. They remind us every year, as if anyone cares.
There is no environment out in Black Rock Desert to speak of, really. It's an ancient sea bed with nothing on it from one horizon to another. One good winter's worth of snow will erase all trace of humankind's visit when the entire playa turns into a mud plain one foot deep come spring.
It's nice that they pick up their trash, of course. You're supposed to do that anyway, not get special credit for it.
This is the state where the US government detonated 1100+ nuclear bombs in underground tests. You really can't hurt Nevada or louse up the joint very much.
Hey, they're welcome to come. It's California that would make it miserable on them if they wanted to hold Burning Man at Trona Pinnacles down in Death Valley, or something. That's my point.
