OR it will be because of those "conservatives" who would support the late Ted Kennedy if he were available on the delusion that he might be a smidgeon better than Obozo (in their hallucinations). Bear in mind the videos of Mittler running against Teddy the K and claiming quite credibly that he would be MORE FAVORABLE to baby butchering and to "gay""rights" than even the late Taxachusetts Senator.
Mittler is where the conservative movement goes to die at least in the hopes and dreams of elitist windtunnels who were routed in the past and obviously need to be routed again.
Did you get the story about how Ann Romney wanted Mittler to choose militant pro-abort Condoleeza Rice as VP??? Is there an elitist "Republican" housewife in the land who does not regard abortion as a virtual sacrament? Barbara Bush, Laura Bush, Lenore Romney, and now apparently Ann Romney.
BTW, the army will be those dedicated to restoring Western Civilization. Since you asked. Go watch again the movie Dr. Zhivago. As the Russian army is marching off to World War I and being blessed by a Russian bishop, Dr. Zhivago's half brother Yevgraf (the Bolshevik agent and later secret policeman) played by Sir Alec Guinness, observes that, for most of the troops, their new army boots were the best they had ever had. Yevgraf, as narrator, then asked what their enthusiasm would be when the boots wore thin, immediately followed by footage of the demoralized Russian army stuck in the trenches.
Enjoy your new boots while they last.
The conservative movement has been and will be a movement of the mind influencing action not a "movement" to enable your next emotional fix in your single-minded obsession to act as though the admittedly desirable destruction of Obozo is the one and only "conservative" goal even at the expense of electing mindless trash and $$$ obsessives like Mittler.
Babies matter. Guns matter. Marriage matters. The GOP (but only as a vehicle for conservative policy) matters. Romney does not matter except insofar as he has the ability to destroy the Republican brand. He is utterly unprincipled. He has no discernible intellectual desire to consider public policy questions and actual initiatives except as a possible threat to his craven desire for $$$ and power. You and others are willing to hallucinate that your beloved Governor Etch-a-Sketch is somehow "conservative." I am not.
The one way that Mittler is clearly superior to the late Teddy is that Mittler has been sober even longer. Who says I never say anything nice about Mittler?
Now that he is running for President, he changes mid stream? What proof do we have that he will follow through and repeal 0’care and truly be pro-life and pro-DOMA?
Words are just words, it is deeds that are recorded for posterity, and his are there for any who care to look at them, and his deeds do not match his ‘new’ words.
And the GOP is inept and uninformed as a body (Akin’s is a good example of not knowing human female biology) and at informing the public about 0’care’s impact, especially on Seniors. Where as the Dems are masters of scare tactic
Not all of us are stupid and believe in drinking kool aid of either party, but do our research.
The GOP platform are just words, and unless they follow through with actions, that is all they remain.
GOP candidates and congress people can start with pledges to eliminate the two tier health care system they helped create, their Platinum pay, retirement and life time Platinum health care.
And to pledge that they will act to stop who ever occupies the WH from using tax funds for taking their 3-4,000 friends (campaign donors on vacation with them), personal parties and purchasing clothing at the tax payers expense when they are wealthy enough to afford their own duds.
And that those like Rangel and Weiner will be sent to prison for criminal acts, just as any other citizen would be, instead of being rewarded with a slap on the hand, or a $35K life time retirement plus Platinum health care for serving just 1 year.
DEEDS not words.
Election after election we are promised reform, and never see it. It starts at the top where the most corruption and rewards are! then trickles down.
The real deal is that our country is in trouble. No matter who is elected in sixty-some days, we are in trouble. Our leaders reflect Americans, who are themselves spiritually meandering among foreign gods, or none at all, if that’s really possible, or are perhaps marginally Christian compared to our founders and their religious moorings, making even even the Constitution they produced out of step with the views of today’s Neanderthalian thinking, something of a punch line. Collectively speaking we are all relativists now.
Father Mitch Pacwa was speaking on relativism yesterday, in his homily, teaching that relativism can bring “might-makes-right” forces into play to settle disputes, when there is no unity of mission, as its result. I take it that in the abscence of God as our Lord and Savior, this is a clarion call to expect oppression.
