They’ve gotta portray Republicans are rich racists, otherwise too many people would start noticing that it’s the Democrats are the rich racists. Yes, “we’ve come to this” Freud pointed this syndrome out decades ago. It’s called “projection”.

It's Saul Alinsky 101: Accuse your opponent of what only you are doing, as you are doing it, to create confusion, cloud the issue, and inoculate voters against any evidence of your guilt. It's a lethally-effective Chicago Machine tactic that our "post-partisan" Marxist-in-chief has used repeatedly to personally destroy his opponents.

I lived in Chicago until 1982 and am well aware of the Alinsky ‘heritage’. In fact I knew a Chicago actor who briefly worked a side job as Alinsky’s chauffeur.
Still, Freud beat Alinsky to it, and to Freud it was a tragic psycopathology that “projection” was a feature of the human mind, at least those minds that can’t see past the end of their own collective noses when it comes to “understanding” others. For the left, the Alinsky tactic functions as a kind of hydraulic lifting-off of all the worst things they fear (if not KNOW) about ourselves, all the hypocrisies, lies, weaknesses, and dishonesty they know they have, and the placing of those things on their “adversaries”. In so doing, they subvert whatever is positive in their adversaries, lay claim to it themselves, and leave their adversaries empty handed and looking delusional.
