Mainly because it works.
When G. Allen did his macaca swan dive, I think the first time he used it he pointed the guy out as to him having been following him from stop to stop and Allen said something to the effect, “Let’s welcome the macaca” but he didn’t let it drop, he used it several times THEN he implied he didn’t do it because he didn’t know what it meant etc etc
