I don't believe the conservative republicans or the democrats have anything to do with Mark Foley's actions which got him into trouble and I don't believe anybody other than Akin himself is responsible for his silly comments.

If I were an Akin supporter I would start spending my time attacking the real opposition, Claire, rather than attack a straw man.

If he's defeated in November he alone will be the blame for that defeat and the results of it.

BTW, as the Mark Foley story was stripped bare, we found that Hastert knew more about him than we knew, and he did nothing. Hastert had a couple of homosexual top level assistants, one of them involved in the House page program ~ one of them may have spoken to Foley, but nothing was done.

Foley had his enablers, and they were part of the House management team, so yeah, they were guilty.

Above that, Foley and them and Sen. Craig, and, alas, the RNC chairman, were all guilty, the public sensed that, and we lost the 2006 election and with it control of the House.
