I feel sorry for him, too. He thought he had a mandate when instead he had cross-over Democratic voters and a couple of million dollars worth of ad buys from McCaskill. She wanted to face him in the general election because he would be the easiest to beat.
I don’t think he will step down, his hubris won’t let him. I am dreading the next two months and the myraid of opportunities he will have to put his foot in his mouth again.
You are right. The Democrats knew exactly what they were doing. It is so unfortunate. I also blame his campaign consultants for not emphasizing how critical it was to stay focused and on message.
Of course, maybe they did and the guy is so full of himself he felt he could do and say anything he wanted. So tragic and so sad.
The personal agony that Todd is going through must be horrific. Unfortunately, he will continue to cause harm not only to his own candidacy but the conservative and pro-life movement also. We are going to hear the words “legitimate rape” until the end of the election.
