Look, I understand that there are people who are legitimate conservatives who are really mad at Todd Akin. I don't agree but I respect that.
However, you can't seriously argue that Todd Akin, a graduate of Covenant Theological Seminary and a ruling elder in the Presbyterian Church in America, “comes from a faith tradition which puts less stock in precision.”
Calvinists are nothing if not particular about their fine points and details in theology.
In Akin’s case, he's also a trained engineer, which might argue that he has more than a bit of emphasis on precision in other subjects besides faith and politics.
Now if you want to say that the PCA is less strict than the OPC and other conservative denominations, you have a point. I am far stricter than the PCA in my Calvinist principles. However, even the PCA puts more “stock in precision” than most American evangelical denominations.
