Yes, Rick is a great speaker when speaking to a group of his supporters. He’s absolutely one of the best at firing up a group of his supporters. But I think Romney is the best candidate to run against Obama this year. Please see post 37.

Since Santorum wasn’t really a conservative (other than the fact he wanted to ban all methods of birth control), I’d say we dodged a lot of bullets when he lost.
SHARIA-ISTS UNLOAD.. 3 ... 2... 1
Romney wasn’t my first choice, either.

What bothers me about the abortion threads are many are totally accepting, and even demanding, that federal government has a role in this issue. If abortion is considered to be murder, then it is a state issue. If abortion is a state issue, states can more freely control and limit abortion thereby saving some lives.

I knew where Rick stood on everything. That was the joy of being a backer of his. I don't know too much about Romney. He says one thing, but his record shows another. When he gets into office, just what will he really do? IMO it depends on what the higher percentage of people (and the Mormon hierarchy) want him to do.

are you my long lost twin???
I have gotten into many drag down arguments over the exact same thing...
I was even called a baby killer for saying abortion, if you follow the constitution, IS a tenth amendment issue..
every state that has tried to ban or outlaw it has been overturned by the fed....
I firmly believe a good deal of the people on this forum do not accept the saving of one life as a victory...
or the saving of an entire state’s lives as a victory either..
all or nothing..
with that kind of thinking, it will always be nothing..
divide and conquer...
one state at a time

I just didn’t see that. Seemed like a wet noodle to me. Not as bad as Pawlenty, but not really commanding any enthusiasm except from people who were enamored of him solely for his policy stances.

“If abortion is considered to be murder, then it is a state issue.”
If abortion is murder, it’s not solely a state issue. There would also be a 14th amendment civil rights issue, which would be a Federal issue.

That's interesting, and Pawlenty
was really boring I'll agree. We went to Rick's Rally in Arlington Heights, IL, and he was on fire, as was the crowd. The cool thing was there were all age groups there. Lots of youngsters (home-schooled) that had made their own signs (and seniors with canes, walkers, and crutches), etc. Most in attendance were [friendly] evangelicals; we were one of a handful of Catholics. :)

Santorum mentioned the damage that contraception has done to America but he wasn't looking to ban all methods of birth control.

Exactly and anyone who says otherwise is just using liberal talking points. I don't even agree with the Catholic stance on birth control and I understood that.
Romney could have been stopped dead in his tracks right here in Michigan if it weren't for his establishment buds changing the rules AFTER the vote.

He's a dishonest man. So discouraging. I'm still praying for some type of miracle.

Its really all we can do but in the end the rewards will be greater than anything we'll ever see on earth. Politics no longer comes before my soul and the fear voters can laugh all they want but I think their "reward" is coming.
