In their absence, I say we nominate Porky Pig or Mickey Mouse. Either would poll better than Akin and have a better chance of winning without the collateral damage, as well.
Of course, if you are hot to teach the Republican party a lesson and don't care about getting four more years of Obama and a Democratic Senate, then that argument doesn't hold much water.
