I heard “Dream Angus” in the movie “The Edge of the World”. I thought it was great and taught it to my Daughter. She would sing it to her babies.
I sang “Hush Little Baby, Don’t Say a Word, Papa’s Gonna Buy You a Mocking Bird” to her when she was a baby. She says she cannot hear that now without getting sleepy.
I sang “Rock a bye baby” to my kids, but didn’t like the way it ended with down will go baby cradle and all, so I added:
Rock a bye, now’s the time to go to sleep
Close yours eyes and you will slumber real deep
And the angels will watch over you through the night
Till rock a bye baby wakes to dawn’s light.
When I was visiting my daughter last summer, she heard me singing it to her son and said, “Oh, you know that song, too? I sing it to the kids all the time.”
