Yeah, I got that after your post, but that "deadline" date had been the reason for my original confusion.
I was just trying to work out some quick solution, for Akin to save face and to bow out as "gracefully" as it is still possible, and for the Huckabee faction to support, or at least not hold out on, a replacement candidate.
