Say what you want about Akin but he is not part of the establishment therefore his defeat will be laid at our own feet. WE will own it.
This adds up to we may be back to a politically expedient "solution" whether or not the guy is actually being railroaded. If that's true, then I'd say maybe WE'VE become part of the problem.

No, it adds up to the fact that this is politics and if a politician is "railroaded", he's a bad politician and never should have gotten as far as he did.
We just may have railroaded ourselves.
