“This issue is going to be used across the country. It is going to do damage to conservatives and the pro-life movement. He is an arrogant and egotistical ass. It needs to go away now. He needs to go away now. It is unfair. The media is unfair. But your heart is not allowing you to see political reality.”
Everything you say makes sense.
But if he won’t go voluntarily, and no legal means exists to remove his name from the ballot, pray tell how are you going to remove him?
Sure, sounds pragmatic and realistic to want him out, but how do you GET him out?
I can think of ways, but won’t mention ‘em out loud...
One other thought:
Is this not America, where ANY one who feels he has something to say can speak in the public forum, get on the ballot, and — lose badly, if his ideas and words are rejected?
Is this not the conservative ideal?
Would not removing Mr. Akin by force be behavior that we (as Freepers) attribute more to the “Chicago folks”?
Jes’ askin’...
It is up to him to withdraw. Unfortunately, it has now gone beyond arrogance. It is hubris. He apparently is delusional enough to think he can win. And he insults us by saying it is not about him. Several other candidates, who could actually beat McCasKILL, are perfectly capable of carrying the pro-life banner.
We cannot mention what would happen if things were done the Chicago way. Or, Clinton’s Arkansas way.
