An Akin’s supporters replied to me saying that not everyone has economy as the most important issue. Some, like him, think social issues have been put aside by Romney, etc. So, they are happy that Akin’s controversy changed the discourse from the economy to abortion in the case of rape as it would force every Republican candidates to answer questions about those issues.
