All I know is that I was at a Navy conference this Spring, Akin was the last speaker one of the days, and EVEN THOUGH I AGREED WITH EVERYTHING HE SAID (generic comments about how a strong Navy is good, etc.) I left after 15 minutes because I thought he was a babbling idiot.
So, the next question is....can the GOP really afford to continue selecting babbling idiots like Akin to represent the Republican Party? We, as a nation, barely (it ain’t over yet) survived McCain, Snowe, Colins and other RINOs in the GOP.
Putting folks like Akin in positions of power over our lives and futures isn’t very bright. It’s not enough for us to be in the right and on the side of truth. We’ve got to be smarter and better at this political game being played for our very lives that we find ourselves involved in. I am just not seeing that “brightness”, however. I do see Ryan as a brilliant pick, but with crap like this Akin fiasco happening, it’s taking the glow off of that bright....fast.
And don’t think the leftists will not connect Romney to this Willke doctor now. It’s the whole point behind the “”gaffe”” being made by Akin, IMO. Again, I don’t believe it was a case of misspeaking on Akin’s part. That would be just too pat and convenient, timing wise, for the left. And I never underestimate the left and their capability re: running a dirty campaign.
I think we have a plethora of yet undiscovered traitors in the GOP. Remember Jim Jeffords.
