You have hit the nail on the head. And I live in Akin's district, and I have voted for him.

I fear you are correct. Akin has been surrounded by his PCA buds most of his life. Frankly, the RNC and his staff should have had a "coach" work with him before he walked the gauntlet of media shows. Obama is using John Kerry (playing Romney) to hone his debate skills. Why not bring in someone to help Akin BEFORE he screwed up so badly?
