Nobody (legally or not) can “make him leave”. He has to gin up the wisdom and courage to do it on his own. It’s possible that he is just mentally and spiritually not capable of doing the right thing.
Or, as a VERY remote possibility, he may actually be evil and want to bring down or do damage to conservatives, the pro-life agenda and our nation. While I don’t think that Akin himself is evil, I do think that some of the folks influencing him now are evil.
I honestly don’t know what the rules say but I would think that if he wants to drop out, it should make it easier to replace him.
As it stands now, it appears like he is trying to let the democrat win and also harm other GOP candidates.
