Hey buddy, I was listening to the bad solenoid O'brien on CNN the other day and she was just salivating at an RNC official trying her best to get him to say he would cancel the convention.

Today she tried to get Connie Mack to admit that her poll that showed 60% of old people wanted SS to stay the same was a deathnell for us.

Mack asked her if taking 716 billion out of SS was good for the dems under Obamacare and how would that poll!! Her reply:

Grand jury calls for firings in iPad thefts

A Monroe County grand jury has called for the dismissal of the county's top two employees because of errors in judgement and they did not do enough to monitor the former head of the county's Technical Services Department, who is accused of stealing and selling county-owned iPads and iPhones. …..The grand jury called for the termination of County Administrator Roman Gastesi and Deputy County Administrator Debbie Frederick…..

….. Druckemiller is accused of stealing 52 county iPhones and iPads and selling them to county employees, Commissioners and others. Earlier this month, she pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of scheming to defraud and dealing in stolen property, though one of her attorneys indicated they are discussing a plea deal with prosecutors.

I am quickly learing just how important local politics are but I am fortunate enough to learn lots of stuff on the national scene that not everyone knows.

You gotta admit here on FR we are a priveleged few when it comes to news and getting it first before most anyone.

These otutrages have gone on for years down here.
If I were in charge,law enforcement wise, I would bring in the FDLE and let them handle the situation.They are a class outfit and would take all the politics out of the situation.

For as big as that thing is 16 mph is cranking right along.

Outflow for this storm is remarkably far-reaching. Pressure creeping downward again as it approaches Haiti coast. If it was further from land now, would be bombing.

Hang onto your hat, FRiend. Will be an interesting couple of days ahead in the Keys.

We should be in the influence 39+ for over a day. Already we are getting steady 20-30 mph winds and looks as if they are from the storm this thing is definitely huge.I think someone said its as big as Texas.

Could get interesting here. We have 37 knots sustained at Mollasses reef buoy with gusts to 43 and this storm is no where near here!

here in Key West we've been getting hit with feeder bands since about 10:30 AM ... though they're far between

We had gusts up to 50 mph before noon

feels like just a rain event

I should never say things like that

We're still ground zero for landfall Sunday afternoon

Here's hoping it hits just a bit east so we don't take the dirty side

If the eye is going to come right over us it will be something to watch from the White Street pier

Golden Beach southward.

Isaac is located about 150 miles SE of Gitmo

Current track has Isaac skimming the spine of Cuba, expected to be a hurricane within 36 hours...with additional intensification expected.
