If the GOP would stop attacking Akin, it will be about McCaskill and her record. The question for the voters is do you want to reelect as Senator someone who voted for Obamacare and is against repeal (71% of Missourians voted against Obamacare in a statewide referendum); voted for the Obama stimulus and Dodd-Frank; been a supporter of Harry Reid in a Dem controlled senate that has failed to pass a budget in 4 years; supports Obama who has run trillion dollar deficits for the past four years and run up more debt than all the Presidents combined from Washington to Clinton and more debt in four years than Bush 43 did in 8; etc. Akin didn't support any of this and he will vote to repeal Obamacare.
I guess you think the people of Missouri can't sort this out on their own. They would rather concentrate on a verbal gaffe rather than the record of someone who has served Missouri well over 24 years at the state and local level. The would prefer to have Obamacare's Death Panel implemented and reelect McCaskill even if it is not in their personal interests to do so. Unemployment at over 8% for 42 straight months is OK as long as you don't elect a guy who made a verbal gaffe that affects no one. I guess you think the voters are stupid and just follow what the MSM and the media tell them to do.
I am trying to figure out what happened in 2010 when the MSM was spouting the same nonsense along with their Dem masters. Something historic happened in 2010 not seen since 1938. But hell, let's just have collective amnesia and pretend it never happened.

Ryan co-sponsored a bill with Akin on federal funding for abortion for rape victims. They wanted to limit such funding to forcible rapes (FBI catgegorization) rather than includ statutory rape or other such labels. Ryan was always going to be the ultimate target because of his very strong pro-life record. Blaming the attacks on Akin is just pure nonsense.

Wrong answer. If you really care about the fate of the country as so many of the anti-Akin posters say, then you will vote for Akin not "may" vote for him. Akin is the only other person on the ballot who can defeat McCaskill. Same rationale as voting for Romney. It is one or the other.

Show me a conservative female in Congress other than Bachmann, and I might change my mind.
They ALL pursue “women's issues”, including Palin. They are all looking for big government and to get one-up on men.
And yes, I have the quotes from Palin if you want to see them.

He could have said rape victims comprise a very small percentage of abortions or that regardless of the circumstances of conception, a baby has the right to live. Instead, he said legitimately raped women cant get pregnant. He is a politician, they talk, they talk about things they shouldn't, they talk about things they know nothing about. Very few are orators. They, as a group, don't listen to their constituents but only to their peers. That is what politicians do. This guy phrased his thoughts perhaps not as well as you would wish, but apparently enough voters got his message to vote for him in the Primary. If you, being from Missouri, don't like him, why don't you put yourself up for elective office and run. No, you take personally what I posted and kvetch, and try and beat me with your feminist stick. Use your brain instead of your feelings and think this through. Don't take someone else's talking points, that is the easy way to have a cocktail discussion.

totally agree. He sounded really full of his own importance and heedless over how he might hurt the party and the overall chances in NOV. Gotta go, NOW!

That is what I read, also, about the sore loser law. I, like you, don’t know if it’s true or not.

I agree but haven’t followed any of it - just saw the words ‘legitimate rape’ and that was it for me. What’s w/him that he is getting so deeply involved - was he asked a set up question or explaining his views in detail?

How the hell do u get that out of the post???? It came out of her bias not the article.

Ok! I'm learning about Aiken through you. I thought he was some whipper snapper due to his stubbornness - only to find out he's 65 and not new to the political world at all. His mind certainly hasn't aged well. Time for his family to step in if they are allowed to.
To: Tzar
due to two words that no one even understood You are right. Did he make up in his own mind rapes being legitimate and illegitimate? What's his deal, do you know?

We can do better. We don’t need a Biden to represent us.
Let’s not forget, it was Akin and his remarks that saved the day for Biden. VP Biden was the news cycle before Akin had done what he did.
