Akin, since he made the decision to stay in, he is going to get a lot of media play he would not have gotten before. He's going to get his message out. The race is not yet lost. Look, I'm sure we'd agree on a lot of things, but that's just wishful thinking.
Akin got about a third of the GOP vote in the primary; do you think he would have gotten anywhere close to that if he had mades his remarks a few days before the elction? Of course, not, he would have finished a distant third.
Akin threw McCaskill a lifeline - she was a Dead Woman Walking until he opened his mouth. If he gets out now and she has to run against a non-toxic GOP candidate, we still have a chance to see her lose, and I want to see her lose!
