Now this is to funny. The first comment by the guy who posted it got yanked.
Anyway, I would like to see her at full sail someday. They have to work that wood, because it sets the joints proper and makes the ship stronger.

I have built many a model of this ship when I was younger, I have on my to “get” list a museum grade wooden model of one around 4 foot long.
I have seen pics of the powder room, completely sheathed in copper so no sparks can ignite the magazine.

Well the story has a lot of BS in it, but that’s ok I guess, she wasn’t under tow for a while,but she certainly wsn’t any power, there was no wind in the sails I saw pictures of , just 3 slack sails and the spars were empty of the 36 they mentioned in the story.
Still it’s a great day for “Old Ironsides”.
