She will carry, StL, KC, Springfield and MAYBE the ‘burbs of those cities, but she won’t carry the bootheel or any other rural area. Face it, Akin is toxic and will be toxic for the rest of the campaign, not just to himself, but to other Republican candidates. Can you honestly see Romney and Ryan getting up on the same stage as this guy, nevermind being in the same city at the same time after what he said? Its clear that there’s several here who don’t recognize the gravity of these comments and why there isn’t a way to “go back.”
The media will not let up and will viciously pursue this day after day all the way through until the election. The only way this goes away is if Akin does.
