“I wanted Newt/Sarah but it was not to be.”
In April, we had our primary here in Maryland. My father, who moved in with us on Thanksgiving Day, voted for Newt. Standing in the booth next to him, I voted for Sen. Santorum.
My father had advanced Parkinson's with dementia. The dementia wasn't too bad just yet, but I teased him that it was the reason he voted for Speaker Gingrich. He just replied with a sly smile.
Regrettably, he won't be around this November to vote for Gov. Romney, as he died last month. But even though his candidate, Speaker Gingrich, didn't win, nor mine, he ultimately supported Gov. Romney because he understood the existential threat posed by the Kenyan anti-Christ.
I'll miss him on election day.

Prayers for your Dad and for you. I’m very sorry to learn of your loss.
And yes! Obama must go!
So sorry to hear about your dad’s passing, my friend. May you be comforted by remembering all the years of wonderful times you shared and the lessons he taught you.
I also like and respect Rick a lot. He is a man of principle, but I am afraid he did not stand a chance. Maybe Newt would not have stood a chance in the general election.
We have fought this battle for many years. As more people are dependent on handouts, the leftists have gotten stronger. We must stop them or the words of Ben Franklin as he walked out of Independence Hall will haunt us: (It is) “A Republic; if you can keep it.” We really are in danger.
My heartfelt condolences on your father’s death. As my father also had dementia, I understand what you and he were going through.
The 2nd Anniversary of my father’s death is approaching; it’s on Constitution Day, September 17th.
