Ultimately, Romney had almost three million votes less than McCain. He lost Colorado, Iowa, Virginia and Ohio. Why? For the same reason Jim Robinson and I only begrudgingly ended up support Romney -- his record on social issues was abysmal. Too many Christians and social conservatives knew Romney wouldn't champion social issues and didn't think they could trust him.

I think he would have been acceptable if he had been elected on those issues. But, hundreds of thousands of other evangelicals didn't agree and didn't show up to vote for him.

Basically, Romney campaigned as the not-0bama, but he was close enough to 0bama on enough things that voters felt comfortable giving zero another chance.

For the same reason Jim Robinson and I only begrudgingly ended up support Romney — his record on social issues was abysmal.
***And the GOP-E now knows that whoever they send down the pipe, JimRob will endorse him. FR lost its brand.

I was beginning to feel like the Lone Ranger here.
***Nothing wrong with being the Lone Ranger of conservatism. That is valuable territory to stake out. Instead, you handed over your deed to the GOP-E.
