As a 8 term GOP guy, the GOP knew exactly who and what he was/is. He was acceptable all those loyal years. But with a less than conservative man atop the ticket, I submit his 97% conservative voting record was incompatable with the incoming management. The gaffe made it pallatable to replace him with a person more in tune with the ‘new way’. Never in history has the GOP so rapidly turned on such a man.
I totally agree he hosed the pooch in high style. But many lesser Pubs have dome far worse. And with his election being such an important ‘win’ for the home team, their bussing of his butt carries the stench of bad fish.
Again. Romney’s history is pathetic compared to Alin. Pathetic. Yet the GOP will defy their base and all evidence to back him.
Speaks volumes as to their ultimate intentions.
