I can appreciate your angst LLS, I didn't reach this decision easily myself, and I've caught some flack for it, however I believe JimRob's decision and logic is sound, for the reason that Romney & Ryan are the only political alternative to that lyin' Kenyan Communist, the only ticket with a shot at removing the filthy little bastard from Office.

We need Romney like we needed Joe Stalin in World War II, none of the allies approved of Stalin's iron fist over the Russian people, nobody endorsed his policies, but he had the troops to fight the damn Nazis and helping him with lend-lease helped push Hitler back, and ultimately resulted in the defeat of the GREATER enemy. When Stalin proved himself to be our new adversary and started the Cold War, we didn't roll over, we resisted with everything we had, and let's be perfectly honest with ourselves, Romney might be a liberal, but he is no Communist.

Voting for Romney does not mean that you necessarily agree with and endorse every one of his views and positions, it DOES mean that you recognize the greater threat which is manifested in that jug eared sonuvabitch stinkin' up the White House and destroying our Nation.

To oversimplify, your above quote as well as many others on this thread, could be restated as “The enemy of my enemy is my friend.”

To be realistic, neither Romney or Ryan have a clue as to how to reduce year-to-year Federal spending. For example, The Ryan Budget increases year-to-year Federal Spending at a slower rate than the Non-Budget of Dual Democrat Dictators Obama and Reid.

With Romney/Ryan in the White House, communal communist programs such as Obama”care” have a better possibility of being abolished. Socialist programs such as Medicare will still continue to damage the financial strength of the US Treasury.

Federal Debt will still continue to increase, but at a slightly slower rate than with Obama. This will buy us time before the World Bond Market bursts the US Federal National Debt Bubble.

IMHO, for those of us that want to see the year-to-year Federal Spending DECREASE, getting Obama out of the White House is only the first step.

My question has always been: “Will we, the people, be able to convince our elected politicians to reduce year-to-year Federal Spending BEFORE the US National Debt Bubble bursts?”

Electing Romney without Ryan would be a mistake, as Romney is basically a delegator who is surrounded by RINO Elites that he would delegate more-of-the-same-Cave-In-to-Democrats Federal Policy.

Electing Ryan with Romney, does not solve our Federal Overspending Problem, it just buys us time to slow down the rate of Federal spending while we, the people, work to elect men and women to replace the Democrats and RINOs in Congress in 2014 and 2016.

This could be the Golden Era for Free Republic!

My interests are mainly financial, but a similar case to the above discussion could be made for Social issues, as both Romney and Ryan are loyal to the tenants of their two God-Centered Churches.

I truly appreciate your civility... far too many romney supporters are hateful or outright a$$holes. You are not amongst them. I have never told anyone here not to vote for romney but I am convinced that if I do as you say... I will lose my soul. I fear GOD far more than I do obama or any earthly pain. I really do not think at this point that our once great republic... a republic that I love more than my own life... will survive regardless. I pray... and one of the things that I pray for is to be wrong about this. I will continue to pray and to seek guidance.

I have already received posts this morning, from week-old threads and I am being attacked because Jim has changed his mind. I will probably be banned myself in the coming days... not because of violating the rules of FR but because of what I have stated with regards to what I believe above. We shall see... but today is a low point in my life... this entire election has robbed me of any hope for a return to our foundational roots. I fear that we have already lost our republic and we are just bleeding out at this point.
