Because it is the one time where the woman had no choice in becoming pregnant. Of course it is still killing a human life, but many do not feel a woman shoule be forced to carry a reminder of her rape to term.....that it truly was not her choice. Maybe for some women the emotional turmoil of being reminded for 9 months of their rape would do serious damage to their mental health, especially if they already have serious mental health issues. Some prolife sources say only about half of raped women choose abortion. I do not know how true that statisitic is, though.
As Wag says, Girl, a criminal can’t be executed for rape, but a baby can be killed because his father raped.
That doesn’t make sense.
I believe in the requirements laid on us by the US Constitution. No one shall be executed for a capital offense without due process of law.
The baby has the right to a trial by jury to determine what crime it has committed that is worthy of capital punishment.
The other problem is that an abortion is without exception a killing. After the trial, the child can be delivered and placed for adoption at the earliest viable moment.
Delivery instead of abortion is my position. Always strive to preserve life, and especially innocent life.
I'm sure she'll remember she was raped for 9 months afterward even if she didn't get pregnant from the attack. Maybe perhaps she'll have even more mental health damage coping with the fact she took something that happened to her and then used it as a reason to murder an innocent child in an attempt to "forget."
