In spite of a Washington Post poll showing 74 percent of Americans favor government-issued photo ID mandates at polling places, CNN skipped those numbers this past week in six separate segments on voter ID laws.
As a Mediaite study noted, MSNBC aired 19 segments on voter ID laws from Monday through Thursday without mentioning the poll. While CNN's coverage was largely balanced, the poll numbers still should have been reported in their discussions on voter ID laws.
In one instance of liberal bias, anchor Fredricka Whitfield teed up liberal guest Professor Jonathan Turley on Thursday by asking if ID laws were "a solution in search of a problem."
"And a number of reports show however that voter fraud is actually not much of a problem. So is this a solution in search of a problem?" she asked Turley, who responded that "a national study found that voter fraud is virtually nonexistent when they looked at the 2000 election."
On Friday's The Situation Room, CNN hyped "growing outrage" over new voter ID laws.
Voter ID is a topic CNN has tackled before – with liberal gusto. For instance, anchor Zoraida Sambolin asked former U.N. Ambassador Andrew Young the other week if new voter ID laws might "suppress the minority vote."
Anchor Carol Costello asked a La Raza chairman last month "Is there a war on minority voters in this country?" while discussing a Texas voter ID law challenged by Obama's Justice Department.
Latest poll: 99.3 percent of Americans don’t watch CNN or MSNBC.
Thanks Kaslin.
I bet if they had a poll of adults showing Barry up .1 percent with an oversampling of Democrats, it would be front page, above the fold.
The same poll shows Voter ID supported by 60 percent of the Democrats and 65 percent of the blacks.
See there you go. I wonder what they are bitching about?
You’re welcome
The critics of the Dems’ stance on this are right when they say the Dems are openly telling us that they intend to commit voter fraud on as large a scale as possible.
CNN lying... covering 0b0z0 once again. Pathetic.
“Just 14% of respondents said voter fraud is not a problem at the current time.”
...in the mind of a liberal, we should go with the 14%!
???
Why would those two newsrooms do anything to harm the credibility of their Democrat party? It is ludicrous to expect either of those channels to mention that the overwhelming majority of Americans want voter ID to protect their votes from being erased by fraud. That's not what their party wants (for some reason).
Meanwhile, in other news, Mrs. Applewhite (or whatever her name is), the woman bringing suit to stop the voter ID law in Pennsylvania, today suddenly obtained a temporary photo ID so that surprise surprise she will actually be able to vote in the next election. And volunteers all over Philly have suddenly discovered they have lots of time to provide help to whomever needs it to obtain similar ID’s. And yet the suit goes on, even though two and a half months remain, which should be plenty of time to actually provide the required ID for all motivated enough to seek it - and those not motivated enough to seek it shouldn’t be voting anyway......
If we don’t, they’ll just do what they do when propositions they don’t like pass and take it to court-whoops, they’re already doing that.
How do you defeat voter fraud? an overwhelming massive voter turnout! Lets give him a smackdown his father will feel.
They never mention Judicial Watch, who has followed the case of the 400,000 fraudulent registrations!
Or we never hear about ACORN - this was part and parcel of their bag of tricks.
next I suppose she’ll get a job?
oh, the horror!
