Obama Registration Efforts Flagging (Democrat registration cratering in swing-states)
National Journal ^ | August 16, 2012 | Ben Schreckinger

Posted on 08/17/2012 9:58:42 AM PDT by JerseyanExile

Despite pouring resources into scores of voter-registration events in the last week alone, a Boston Globe analysis found that the Obama campaign has failed to significantly swell the rolls of Democratic voters in battleground states.

In five battleground states the for which the Globe was able to analyze registration data, Democratic registration increased by 39,580 voters, while Republican registration increased by 145,085.

The Obama campaign says that its successful registration efforts in 2008 largely exhausted the pool of unregistered Democrats, while the Republican primaries earlier this year provided a registration opportunity that Democrats were not afforded.

The Globe cited a study released earlier this week by Third Way, a left-leaning think tank, that showed Democratic registration down 800,000 people in eight battleground states and Republican registration down by 80,000 in those same states. Independent registration, on the other hand, has grown by nearly half a million voters in those states.

November 6th is going to be Chick-Fil-A day all over again. Red-blooded Americans are aching for the chance to have their voice heard.

Incidentally ... has anyone heard of a anybody anywhere that didn’t vote for Obama in 2008 that intends to in 2012? Has his record earned him a single additional vote?

I’ve heard of Obama voters going Romney. I’ve heard of non-voters going Romney. I’ve heard of McCain voters going Romney. I’ve heard of Obama voters not voting. I’ve heard of immovable Obama voters that will vote Obama ... but I haven’t heard a single person say “I didn’t vote Obama in 2008, but will in 2012”.

Well, I can’t vote for Romney or Obama. Romney is much worse than McCain, and I regret voting for RINO McCain. I still stink from it.

We need to help whip up Democrat enthusiasm-get them really motivated for more Hope and Change and to head off the Radical Right Wing threat so they come out to vote in droves on November 7.

“Independent registration, on the other hand, has grown by nearly half a million voters in those states.”

Obama’s numbers with Independents are horrible. This is a very good sign.

Still waiting on a real primary in Virginia. The Mittbots did nothing to encourage real Americans to vote this year. A little piddling make-up stuff with Ryan dragging in out at West Springfield (close to the Democrat hot house) won’t do a thing for them.

You don’t have to. Just vote for Paul Ryan.

I don’t buy that he’s worse than McCain. McCain nominated Palin ... and then basically muzzled her. Romney nominates Ryan — the single best choice for dismantling ObamaCare — and unleashed him.

I’ve been a registered independent for better than 30 years. I think its a great sign. No party should feel comfortable and take votes for granted.

Ryan’s not going to president; he won’t be making any of the decisions, only supporting Romney’s decisions.

Yes, Romney is MUCH worse than McCain.

Obama provides all the encouragement real Americans need.

But, if you’re not encouraged by Paul Ryan, you’re not encourage-able.

“Exhausted the pool?” Sounds like voter ID might be working or, at least, the publicity is. . .

I'm always very encouraged to vote early and often provided i have a Conservative to vote for.

You guys seemed to have interfered with my voting habits this year.

I can vote for a man who would nominate, and back, Paul Ryan. Ryan is a man who has legitimate answers to difficult questions — he is serious, he is principled, he is compelling, he is sensible, he is conservative. He is enemy-number-one of ObamaCare ... and RomneyCare. I fully believe Mitt Romney will dismantle ObamaCare.

That Romney would choose Ryan as a running mate, and that Ryan is comfortable enough with Romney’s vision to accept, is a very good sign. Honestly ... Paul Ryan made me like Romney better.

I was an anti-Obama voter before Ryan. But, Ryan brings a vision for America that I can support ... he is an inspired, and an inspiring, choice. Romney didn’t bring on a RINO VP — he brought on a conservative, and he backed his conservatism to the hilt. That says something.

No, he isn’t worse than McCain.

That is the heart of the issue- despite all the “polls”

Obama’s support was MAXED last time. He got every single black vote he could. Some of them are NOT planning to vote for him again (he’s an IDIOT and now they know it)

SO he has no where to go but down.

The Republicans are ENERGIZED though- Chik-fil-A should serve as an example of why
