Atheists may be wrong about the existence of God (at least in my view they are wrong), but that doesn’t mean they are wrong about everything.

No, but her atheism pretty much means that a Republican nominee for national office can't hold her up as a guiding star for his own philosophy. It's a deal-breaker.

Who said Ryan holds her up as a “guiding star”? Certainly not Ryan.

Paul Ryan says that he read her books as a youth but was not influenced by her. In April, he gave an interview to National Review in which he repudiated Rand entirely. In the interview, he called reports of his adherence to Rand’s views an “urban legend” and said that he was more deeply influenced by his Roman Catholic faith and by Thomas Aquinas.

For people like you maybe, but for me, good ideas and principles remain good, no matter where they come from.
