There is a greater ballot out there than the 2012 one. “ There is nothing new under the sun “, and neither is going-along-to-get-along, out of fear, as our GOPE history proves. We get worse and worse. For me, to support Romney squish on abortion is no way to move God to mercy. On the otherhand, when the Church prays and repents and shows it, God is moved and a nation is restored.
Because those of us who express our intention to vote for someone other than Obama or Romney get immediately pounced upon by the Romney brownshirts. Anyone trying to start a thread for a third party get shouted down almost immediately.
It seems like FreeRepublic now needs a "Virgil Goode" caucus thread, or a "Tom Hoefling" caucus thread, or a "Gary Johnson" caucus thread.

This is exactly what is important this time around. We can’t do anything in regards to getting a Conservative Executive Branch so we might as well be concentrating on the house and senate.
Screw Obama and Romney both. That is not the battle we should be fighting this go round.

We did block Miers but got Roberts instead. Of course we were all happy about that at the time. No one could foresee that he’d turn traitor to the cause just as we needed him most. ObamaCare should already be dead by now and not even an issue. Bush was not a movement conservative, he was a “compassionate” conservative and McCain was even less conservative. I remember when we all swore, “Never again!”
But Romney’s an out and out liberal progressive leftist and flip-flopping, bald-faced liar to boot, but here they’re asking for our vote? We warned them that we’d never vote for an abortionist, homosexualist statist and I have no intention of ever selling my soul for the GOP.
We have had flame wars and bloodletting ever since I've been here. There will be flame wars and bloodletting after I'm gone.
One thing is for sure, you don't compromise your principles.

Of course, I would have to see examples of what you call “nanny state.” If you mean keeping illicit drugs illegal....that IS NOT nanny state, that is keeping a safe an ordered society.
I you have seen no samples of the "nanny state" of which I speak, you have not been paying a bloody bit of attention. "Nanny state" has not a thing to do with illicit drugs....but you would know this if you paid attention.
Now IF you mean someone legislating the fat content of food, then that would be “nanny state.”

Actually, it’s more of an excuse for JBTs to shred the remaining scraps of the Constitution that we have left.
Jedi, I respect your head a lot, but I stop breathing for a moment when I hear FReepers say, “ we can hold Myth’s feet to the fire once we get him elected. “ How, pray tell, do we get power to do that when we have just given him all of it, over us, along with our vote?
This is the kind of CRAP that needs to stop.
Those of us who will NOT vote for Romney are not being rude to those of you who will. Yet we get posts like the above.
If you want to vote for Romney, go ahead. I won't try to talk you out of it, I won't ridicule you for it. I won't hold it against you in any way.
There is no reason for the pro Romney crowd to post their snide crap like what you just did. And yours was just a minor dig compared to some of the stuff I have read from the Romney camp.
Not voting for Romney does not mean we are staying home. It does not mean we are not voting. We just are not voting for Romney. Of course YOU knew that Southnsoul, didn't you?
That said my theory is not only did looters and liars on the Republican side pick Romney but the RATS worked hard to make him our pick as well. I'm convinced as soon as any Non-Romney gathered momentum Zero's forces unloaded on him with attack ads until Romney was all that was left. That said I'm voting for Ryan and against Obama this time. With Reagan we got stuck with Bush. This ticket has the potential of making Ryan president one day.
Wrong again. I’m making a moral stand, regardless of your less-than conservative opinion.
