Some people I've met online do some of this without even being aware of what they are doing, so keep in mind that not everyone is part of some over-arching conspiracy.

I never presume ANYONE is running a conspiracy campaign. I simply assume anyone resistant to critical analysis of their pet theory is simply vain, and their attempts to gloss over serious flaws are really attempts to "save face."

No one likes to admit they got "suckered."

This policy has the benefit of being effective on both the provocateur AND the moron.

Logic simply IS. Facts are stubborn things... Repetitive application of the two drive ‘em nuts. ;-)
