False; there are no NWS stations in these locations; as the solicitation points out, these are for the National Marine Fisheries Service stations.
Within a large agency you will sometimes have a procurement office for one agency handling the procurement for another part of the agency (happens in DoD all the time.) Sometimes you'll have odd combinations. The NWS isn't arming itself.
Not that any of the above is going to prevent a bunch of panicky morons who just discovered that federal procurement solicitations are online (they have been for years) from wetting their pants every time a law enforcement agency buys some ammo.
When it rains, I tend to get wet in that area. Does that count?
Well, duh, shucks, I'se wanna dem pancakey morons.
Regardless of the legitimacy of this particular piece (BTW, betting on malicious intent by the federal government is much better odds than Vegas), it's becoming somewhat obvious that federal domestic "law enforcement" agencies are preparing for more than whipping up on bank robbers and naughty Arabs.
There's a lot more to this than a little ammo procurement here and there. If the memos and internal documents from some of our Stasi wannabes don't send a red flag up, you aren't paying attention. Not to mention public statements indicating the feds are a lot more concerned about American citizens than foreign subversives. It is the sum of a number of disturbing things that makes any *anti personnel* ammunition purchases a matter for concern.
.357 hollow points? .223 unjacketed lead rounds, 00 buckshot..........for *practice*?
Based on what's happened in the last 3 years (and more), a little paranoia is starting to bear a strong resemblance to common sense.
No, I for one don't care if every meter reader, tax accountant, dog catcher, or weatherman is armed to the teeth, if they need to be. My question is why are they buying Hollow Point ammo? Target practice?
It seems to be your oeurve to set us all straight.
Seems like a thankless task, lol. Should we be thanking you?
