Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.
But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.
And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.
And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.
That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.
Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.
Cut. Print. Perfect.
The Predident is elected by the States. That is why he is the President OF THE United States and not the President of the PEOPLE of the United States.
Parse it any way you like, Hitler was duly and legitimately, elected by a committee that was elected by the Reich stag, that was elected by the people of the various German States to be Chancellor of Germany. Everything was legal, everything was legitimate and everything occurred through popular election to a Parliamentary System of a Constitutional Republic. Quod erat demonstrandum
What is the consensus of Who Jesus is, generally, among Jews. Do they consider Him a prophet,
***From the many jews that I have discussed this with, the consensus is that Jesus was a “great man”, a lot like what most Americans believe. Some even consider him a prophet, but when confronted with his prophecies they relent and go back to the ‘great man’ hypothesis. Most jews do not want to stir up a religious hornet’s nest. They have heard there are some issues with this Jesus character and they don’t want trouble. The VERY LAST thing they will entertain is that Jesus was the Messiah.
or is He looked at as Someone heretical?
***Not until they are confronted with the historical fact that Jesus claimed to be God Himself. At that point, every jew I have spoken with has doubted the historicity of the claim, even though the enemies of Christ acknowledged (and used) it at the time of His death.
(I am sincere in the question. I can only go by my understanding of how He was looked at by the Jewish leaders in His day, according to New Testament Scriptures, and many did not approve of Him.)
*** When confronted with the historical FACT that Jesus claimed equality with God, jews today will fold into their own belief system, just like modern gentiles. In Jesus’s time, he was looked at as a prophet who was widely discredited due to his claim of equality with God, therefore being put to death for blasphemy.

The rest of my post was perfect too :)
It’s not conservatism to pretend that the best answer to a horrible choice is the fantasy alternative. Bless you and all with strong enough principles to think and act like you.
***No matter who wins in the next election, conservatism loses. Basically the GOP-E is saying that if you want to be involved, you leave your conservatism at the door. Anyone who walks through the door aint conservative.
And I would do so not “putting aside” my conservative priciples,
***no, it’s pretty clear that to vote for a lying, baby-killing statist you’re putting aside your conservative principles. You can varnish it up to look all pretty, but it’s still a turd. To call it “meeting your principles” is to engage in simple bull shiite for reasoning.
Sorry, post your crap to some one else.
Stay off DU and learn some history.
Personally, I think I’m voting CTHULHU. I’m tired of the lesser evil, I want the Elder one.
And you confuse sarcasm with sincerity.
;)
What did you think after reading them?
Just the next 100 posts (200-300) interesting too. Another 11 individual Freepers who flatly stated out loud they would vote ABO/GOP/Romney/Ryan. Additionally, 7 more individual Freepers who also supported ABO and indicated their vote would be for the GOP candidate.
So from just the first 300 post-opus posts, that's another 18 for sum total of the Spirit of 76 Freepers -- out of just the first 300 posts -- concerned about the future of our country:
Im voting Romney/Ryan. Nothing else will save this country unless we go to war. And even should the GOP ticket succeed, we still have to hold their feet to the fire. But I can accept that. We may still have to go to war if Obama wins. But Ill be damned if Ill sit this election out. No way will I ever not stand up and be counted when it comes to acting against tyranny. Theres no other choice. -- bcsco
I was as ABR as anyone here. Ask my friends and family. Over the last month or so, I have come to the realization that, if I want my country to continue to exist, I have to become ABO. I do not support Romney, but I do support my country. I know that Obama is determined to destroy it. Being in Wisconsin, I understand that my vote, unlike one in CA or NY, may actually matter. It is a heavy responsibility and one I take seriously. I will be voting for some serious R & R. If that means I am not welcome here at FR, I guess that is the way it is. God Bless the USA. May she grow and prosper. -- ozaukeemom
To: bcsco Your post says it all. Ill second it! -- mplsconservative
I don't care if Romzilla has a gills and two peters. I'd take a daily whipping over 4 more years of Zero. But like I've said, he should be kept guessing until election night. But let Barry win by default? Why, that's just crazy talk. -- tumblindice
I do hope a couple of the ABR FReepers on the thread will engage the question I posed. Romney was not my first choice (I voted for Santorum in the Ohio primary), but he's the only choice now, as I see it - I just can't see how helping Obama get reelected is going to put the conservative movement in a better position in 2016. I remember reading a piece about Perot's impact on the 1992 election. The race in Ohio came down to a few votes per Congressional district, which meant that Clinton carried the state, and the White House, because Perot hated the Bush family. The Anyone But Bush voters won that year, and look what it gave us; I choose to not repeat the mistake this time around. -- TonyInOhio
I wish he'd picked Palin (as if, after his surrogates trashed her). But aside from her, Ryan is the best one which came to mind. And he's young (42). Good enough to take over the reins when Romney retires. And -- though I despise Romney's liberal credentials, at least he gave a nod in the correct direction with this pic, rather than (say) Gov. Christie of NJ. We must stop Obama, or literally face destruction (300 nuclear warheads for the US is suicide, even if Obaama didn't go all Stalin on us). Considering an extra donation to FR. Cheers! -- grey_whiskers
Sure, Ryan is now a RINO because he agreed to be Romney's VP candidate. He agreed to be the VP for a guy that won the primary, endorsed Ryan's budget and has tacked right to get the nomination. WOW! I guess anyone short of Attila the Hun would be a Leftist in some peoples eyes. Ryan is a solid Conservative. What he understands, and you and many here do not. You can not effect change and Conservative governance yelling from the sidelines and the stands, YOU HAVE TO BE IN THE GAME! Ryan put all Conservatives in the game. -- Jim from C-Town
So, if our hard core social republican friends are upset, then they should call for a revival. Not a vote for Obama by not voting for Romney. -- blasater1960
A life of dhimmitude and martyrdom at a time when it didnt need to happen. Whatever happened to the brave MEN of the past? I am serious. Cowards! obama has the Muslim Brotherhood in the White House, you fools! Stand up to a Romney administration and be heard if ya dont like his policies, for Petes sake, but get obama out of there! -- Bluebird Singing
However, my fear is that this country that I love, that saved my Dad and gave our family a chance to rebuild, will not survive another four years with the current President in office. Romney was not my first choice. Not even remotely. But like my Dad, we dont always get the things we want and sometimes we have to do the best we can with what we have to make it through a night and hope for another day. I would respectfully suggest that those of you who are not voting for Romney because hes not exactly what you want, have not ever been through periods of true starvation where you will do anything to fill the pain and agony caused by emptiness and G*d bless you for it. Men should not have to endure those things. --CWSNTEXAS
While Romney was hardly my first or second choice elections are what they are. Little has "changed"except for for far more corruption due to the current regime. From my standpoint it's no good enough to sit back and take cheap shots at the guy who won without a viable alternative. I can't ignore the destruction going on by the regime. For me I would need either a good alternative or support our candidate all the way. That's what I am doing. For me to do nothing is really not an option. -- rodguy911
Helpful hint: Romney is the only candidate capable of defeating Obama. You can rant and rave, fume and pout, hold your breath but in the end you have a choice between the current President and Governor Romney. Try to accept it. Or continue to foolishly waste your time with post after post re-fighting the primary. -- catpuppy
StAnDeliver, that was quite a study and convincing presentation. You did good.
I read each of those posts and I did not see a single RINO. What I saw were patriots, every damn one of them. I saw what I now believe is truth and cruel reality. I am proud to stand with each of you during these dark times.
A few weeks ago, I would have bit anyones head off for even suggesting what I am about to say would ever come from me, but I no longer see any other reasonable option, so it’s time.
Regrettably, I am going to lose a good many cyber friends because of my dicision and THAT truly bothers me.
-I will not stay home, I WILL vote for Ryan.... and that other guy-
To fail to do anything that would not be in support of the removal of Obama from power, is just not something I could live with. I don’t believe I could ever again look into the eyes of my grandchildren with a good conscience, knowing that I helped to give Obama another 4 years.
I hate these times and I hate Obama and his democrats.... they simply must be removed from power.
Ryan/and the other guy - 2012
Stop demogoging those of us who have to do the hard work in this election to get the Marxist out, and conservatives in.
I don't think you will get this point across through the intentionally obtuse.
You neither use nor spell "demagoguing" correctly.
You're out of your depth.
More recently, Heller has claimed to have evolved to become pro-life.
***Sounds a lot like someone else we know.
This is why I stay away from the Religion threads...
Has it? OMGoodness! I’m shocked. SHOCKED!
