Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

“You may (or may not) have misjudged Romney.”

I judge politicians on their records, not by what they say to get elected.

Romney has a record of appointing liberal judges.

The “Christians” you speak of are adherents to the founding principles of Free Republic. They are the last vestiges of true conservatism on Free Republic..
Obama must go, and Romney's not a good pick; thus the battle ensues. This from Jimmy Akin:
To elect a Mormon to the American presidency would, to my mind, be a disaster. It would not only spur Mormon recruitment efforts in numerous ways, it would mainstreamize the religion in a way that would deeply confuse the American public about the central doctrine of the Christian faith. It would give the public the idea that Mormons are Christian (an all-too-frequent misunderstanding as it is) and that polytheism is somehow compatible with Christianity. In other words, it would deal a huge blow to the American public’s already shaky understanding of what Christianity is. That means it would massively compromise a fundamental value on the scale of the abortion issue. Faced with the choice of voting for a pro-life polytheist-claiming-to-be-Christian or a pro-abortion whatever, I might well choose to simply sit out that race and refrain from voting for either candidate, because voting either way would mean doing massive damage to America. --Jimmy Akin
And from Stephen Stone:
As far as Mitt is concerned, I would say he appears to have bought into the [Mormon] culture. Is he a Christian, nonetheless, as he claims? That's, of course, for the Judge of All to determine — but it hinges on Mitt's commitment to biblically-sound teachings above the traditions and cultural notions of the LDS church. Can Mitt make such an orthodox commitment, being a seemingly-acculturated LDS member? Christian voters this election would like to know — especially those troubled by Mitt's classic "Mormon" words when he said he'd "sustain and support" Roe v. Wade several years ago as the law of the land. "Sustain and support"? That's a phrase used by Mormons when they vote routinely in church settings to retain authoritarian church leaders no matter their worthiness. Talk about being acculturated. --Stephen Stone

I doubt Free Republic will become a pro-Romney site. If you want to promote him, why not do it somewhere elsewhere?
***Because these CINOs are interested in sowing discord among conservatives. For every 1 freeper that gets converted, hundreds are dismayed. The damage to conservatism is incalculable. We all agree that they should be converting 0bots to mittbots, but they prefer to stay here sowing discord among conservatives on this conservative site. They are not conservative.

We shall see.

I think he’s going to be (far) more centrist than before.

His is a unique change. He is quite wealthy so outside influence may be less of a concern than with any other candidate.

He is marginally conservative.

I dunno. You may be right, our I may be. We shall see.

Schultz: First of all you walk into the White House, in the West Wing, and there are picture all over, I mean everywhere! Of President Obama! I mean, of his life in the first year as president of the United States. Now I don’t know if that’s the way it is with every president, but it was almost a shrine. I mean, well, here’s a picture of Obama the president with his kids over here. There he is getting on Air Force One. Here he is with some military people. Here he is on the line working the line at one of his campaign stops. I mean, just, it was just one picture after another! (laughs)

Schultz is a far-left opinion-meister on MSNBC. He considers himself a “progressive liberal.” His talk show is generally considered to be a very liberal-leaning program. He is pro-union and centers a large portion of his radio show on the “plight of working class Americans.”

This display of Obama’s narcissism in the White House must really be something when an Obot like Schultz is surprised.

Update: Just received this Hillbuz report from Stacy — Today, ...took a much-needed break from the Internet and went down to the Museum of Science & Industry here in Chicago to see the White House model they have on display through February: it’s a to-scale miniature, with cutaways into most of the rooms. Apparently, the Zeif Family, who made and maintains this model, travels to the White House in each administration, measures any changes that were made, and recreates the interior of the White House to exacting detail. They’ve been doing this since the Kennedy Administration.

What disturbs us is that, if the model is really exact in all details, the actual White House is chock full of crazy currently.

In the Zeif model, the East and West wings of the White House are plastered with propaganda. Inside all the offices, there are GIANT photos of the current First Family, the likes of which we’d expect to see in Pyongyang or the old presidential palaces in Baghdad, before the Husseins were ousted. They aren’t even particularly good pictures — like things cut out of People magazine or some other propaganda piece run on the Obamas.

It’s just strange that the Zeifs took the time to recreate everything else in such painstaking detail, but then plaster the interior of the East and West wings (but not the original White House itself), with giant images of Dr. Utopia and his “fashion icon” wife. Unless the REAL East and West wings really are covered in this garbage.

The miniature computer screens in the offices are all functional, and play tiny propaganda reels praising the Obamas. The White House cinema, located in the Collonade between the White House and the East Wing, also plays a DVD promoting the glory of all things Obama.

It’s really very strange. And, there’s more here . . .

Sounds like Schultz’s description of the place might be understated.

His Party, that he headed, was duly, legitimately and legally elected. They formed a coalition government and he WAS ELECTED by the committee to be Chancellor of Germany.

It is very similar to the way that the President of the United States is elected. You may think you are voting for President, but you are actually voting for Electors that represent you in the Electoral College. They actually vote for the President.

All very legal, all very legitimate and all very much an elected official in a Constitutional Republic!

Sounds like you want everyone in a battleground state to split their votes among various third parties.

My position is stated, simply and plainly, on Page One of this thread:

#25

If you can somehow gibber and drool that into "I want everyone in a battleground state to split their votes among various third parties," then there are no words in my vocabulary monosyllabic enough to help, really.

Well, “LC” may SAY it’s a man. I have “LC/Elsie” pegged as a lesbian plant, here to spread it’s hatred to make true Christian conservatives look like idiots.
***Geez, if that isn’t a personal attack, what DOESN’T qualify? Elsie’s been posting mormon-correcting material for years. Why haven’t you been countering it all these years?

Why else would “IT” not support a TRUE CONSERVATIVE like Dean Heller.
***Because Dean Heller is some guy that most of us have not heard of.

It’s one thing to oppose Romney for his views- I get that and I’m voting for him only to be voting AGAINST Obama.
***Tell ya what — when the ballot says “vote AGAINST so&so” then I’ll pull that lever. Maybe you could go off and institute that electoral change.

But these anti-Mormon shills couldn’t care less about the Conservative cause.
***There have been mormonism threads on FR for years. Why is it that you haven’t been saying that sentence for years? Oh, I know, it’s because now there’s a mormon running for president. OK, now they have to be shills. Great logic, einstein.

They are here only to make Conservatives look like fools.
***So Elsie spent several years on mormonism threads just so that in the possibility a mormon got the nomination for pres, he could make conservatives look like fools. OK, got it. Perhaps the tables need to be turned to look at you — why are you here other than to make conservatives look like fools? Why not convert 0bots to mittbots instead? We all agree that’s the right thing to be doing rather than sowing discord among conservatives, as you are doing right now.

Absolutely not. The context was to keep Romney in the race so McCain could not win and it could be decided at the convention (hoping for a conservative candidate to get the nod). But Romney folded early and Huckabee couldn’t pick up the slack. The rest is history.

It was anyone but RudyMcRomney in those days for FR.

I always vote for the conservative candidate unless there is none. I voted for Sarah, I will vote for Ryan because one thing I know for sure, the Kenyan Marxist must go and deathcare MUST be repealed. If he gets re-elected, it’s all over. It will be implemented in full.

A most eloquent statement, Kent!

To answer your question and open your eyes to what is going on here, there are people on this thread who would rather see a pro-abortion liberal democrat in the US Senate over one of the most conservative Senators simply because that conservative Senator is a Mormon.
***Then why did they answer your post with “Dean Who?”
