“The country isn’t ready yet for a serious discussion of spending and entitlement reform.”

If not now, when?

If not us, who?

I dont believe the naysayers. ...NOW is the moment when the falures of left-liberal big Government spending is crystallized in a stagnant economy and 8% unemployment.

NOW is the moment. Carpe Diem!

“We haven’t quite hit rock bottom yet which is what it will take, but by then it is probably too late to do anything about it.” — so NEVER is the time. Might as well try NOW.

You are definitely right that we need to have this debate. I will also concede that Paul Ryan is as good a man as any to try to make our point for us.

My guess is it will probably result in us losing this election, maybe badly, but perhaps some seeds will be planted. Perhaps it will be like the Goldwater defeat which helped pave the way for the Reagan Presidency later.

If Obama continues to suck as badly in his second term as he did in his first (and I believe he will), maybe then the people will be more receptive to our message, and some LONG overdue reforms can finally be instituted.
