I thought Ryan and Romney both gave excellent speeches. What was the atmosphere on the ground? It is sometimes hard to get a real feel watching events on Tv.

The atmosphere was electric from the start.. The first speaker was Rep Randy Forbes, followed by Lt Gov Bill Bolling, Sen. (hopefully) George Allen, then Gov. Bob McDonnell, who introduced Romney.

Romney, who emerged from the USS Wisconsin, gave a few remarks, then intro`d Ryan to the roar of approval from the crowd of about 6,000. When Ryan emerged from the Wisconsin, he was welcomed like a rock star. Ryan hit on the key points about our rights coming from God, about how the current regime has damaged us economically and fiscally. The reference to God given rights drew some huge positive response.

While the atmosphere was electric and enthusiastic, there was also an underlying sense of urgency and seriousness about the all-important need to defeat Obama.

Everyone seemed to be very favorable of Romney`s choice of Ryan. I am. I was amazed at how normal and approachable both men seemed to be. When shaking his hand, I urged Romney to get into telling his life story so voters can learn more than just about Bain and his stint as MA Governor. He slapped me on the shoulder and said, “I`ll do it!”
