The other day, I passed a Republican-party county office here in my home state, its window attractively emblazoned with placards declaring Believe in America. Romney 2012 and New Hampshire Believes. Romney 2012. Theres not a lot of evidence for the latter proposition, but Im certainly willing to believe that Romney believes that New Hampshire believes. An hour or two later, I chanced to be passing a television set just as the station went to break. The words WE BELIEVE appeared on the screen, followed by youthful hands raised to a clear blue sky at the dawn of a new day, shafts of sunlight gleaming through ears of corn, a puppy gamboling across a meadow, a kitten playfully pawing, happy green-T-shirted volunteers of many races unloading a recycling carton . . . and I thought, despite myself, Well, say what you like, but the reassuring vapidity of the Romney campaign is at least getting more professional. At the end, in the spot where the off-screen voice is supposed to say...

Obama has spent Americas future, and left no more trace than if he and his high-school choom gang had wheeled a barrow of 5 trillion in large notes behind the gym and used them for rolling paper...

Obama is the first president in history to create more disabled people than workers. He is the biggest creator of disabled people on the planet. He has disabled more people than the Japanese tsunami. More Americans have been disabled by Obama than have been given cancer by Mitt Romney. Ask yourself, Are you more disabled now than you were four years ago? Obama 2012. Followed by the wheelchair logo with the Obama O where the wheel should be. In the Democrats Dependistan, the wheelchair ramp is downhill all the way...

It's Romney who's "allegedly Republican," not the Republican conservative base.
I see everyone is already rubbing themselves raw this morning over Paul Ryan who is a great pick. However Mitt is still the nominee and trying this same failed tactic two elections in a row is idiotic.
Do not worry, with the summer olympics in London winding down, as with the summer, plus the conventions not that far away, look for an increase in interest.
Mmmm, sad piggy. Should you KentBots be posting, before the Zoloft kicks in?
scratch the bud light. insert hennesey. otherwise right on the money.
People: Face it, Romney is the candidate. I’m tired of hearing “Mittens” or that someone isn’t voting for Romney because there are better candidates out there. I’m not a huge Romney fan but, for crying out loud, he’s light years ahead of the socialist, arrogant, ignorant asshole in the WH. At least Romney doesn’t hate this country as Obama surely does.
There may be no hope left for this country in the long term; time will tell but I think that we all agree that if Obama is re-elected, the country’s demise is assured. If Obama somehow can bullshit his way into another four years, I will personally start a movement to have PA secede from the US as all patriots should do wherever they are. Don’t give up; at least Romney will listen to us, which is a far cry from where we are presently.
One glimmer of hope: Historically, incumbents who poll under 50% lose elections because the undecideds break for the challenger. Remember 1980.

Even the military is in the game now. 80% of the military separating is getting disability, on average for 5 reasons. Before the screaming starts I’m former military myself, and I know this just ain’t right.
I’m not crazy about Mitt and I fully understand the position of those conservatives who will not vote for him but I believe Mitt WANTS the job of POTUS and he sees it up for grabs. He KNOWS the gig is his to lose. Consequently, after the convention, I fully expect him to start beating Obozo bloody, night and day 24/7 with Obozo’s own image and words.
I fear even worse in a second Obama term. Obama is quite willing to trash the Constitution and rule by decree while Congress and the GOP court eunuchs sit idly by. In second term he could become a virtual dictator little different than Caesar Chavez. November 6, 2012 could well be our last free election if Obama is reelected.
I would say they were more like close cousins. Gay, kissing cousins.
It's too bad Ryan isn't the top of the ticket.
Romney won't listen to you. It is delusional to think otherwise. He spent more money attacking Conservatives than he ever did attacking leftwingers.
Mark Steyn ping.
Also I am not sure if this one was pinged last week:

Freepmail me, if you want on or off the Mark Steyn ping list.
Thanks for the ping neverdem.
Thanks
Thank you. I would vote for the Romney/Ryan ticket if I had absolute assurances that Myth would resign one second after taking the oath of office. This ticket is at least as bottom-heavy as the McCain/Palin ticket.
Just like in 2008, I'm skeptical that the VP would have any influence on the POTUS if elected. It's just not the nature of the job. It won't be a co-Presidency by any means. While this probably makes sense for Ryan's career long-term, he'd probably have more influence as the de facto leader of economic conservatism in the House.
The difference is that Romneycare was constitutional under the 10th amendment and should actually be called MAssholecare as it’s what his constituents in Mass demanded.
The states can be laboratory’s of legislation and may show us success or failure.
Romneycare is a mislabeling of Massachusetts healthcare program. He did not design it, he just saw over what Teddy Kennedy,John Kerry, Barney Frank and Massholes demanded in their state.
The Federal Government had no right to give us Obamacare at the federal level and the larger portion of Americans were against it
I think it is unfair to equate Romney to Obama on this matter.
Romney only responded to his constituents.
Obama gave his the finger.
Part of why Romney isn’t getting traction is that he is not even the nominee at this point.
He doesn’t have the delegates yet.
He is the presumptive nominee, and he still has Obama worried.
Wait until the convention in a couple of weeks and you will see his campaign solidify.
Well I am doing my bit.
Ive voted for Ted Cruz twice and will vote for him again.
We MUST gain control of the Senate.
So true.
