U.S. Rep. Allen West subjected himself to a flaming blowtorch Wednesday to demonstrate the power of a revolutionary new fire retardant made by a Jupiter company.
GelTech Solutions, which has earned international recognition for what it calls a lifesaving product, invited West to participate in a firsthand demonstration of the patent-pending technology. Called FireIce, it has been featured on national TV programs like the “Stossel Show.”

You make a great point.. Two points give me greater pause about Portman -- his close ties to the Bush Administration and his support of amnesty for illegals.
I agree! So many in Washington have been lifelong politicians, they have forgotten that it is the businessowners that keep this country afloat. West understands that he represents everyone. We definitely need more like him on the Hill.

Your post here is puzzling at best. Did you mean your two questions to be sarcastic? If not, you need to do much more research on Colonel West.
Surely not Paul Ryan or Marco Rubio or Susan Martinez?
I wouldn't consider Ryan or Martinez RINO's.
Rubio is part of the shamnesty crowd from what I recall. That's aside from the question of his eligibility.
Petraeus is too moderate for my taste, and honestly, I'm not familiar enough with Thune or Portman to make any judgement concerning them.

No! Not in the least!
Rep. West is the most likely next Republican President of the USA, ( I am assuming that timid Mitty-Mittster will do everything that he can to insure his loss to Communist Obama in 2012).
However, Rep. West is new (2 years) in town, and the pro-debt culture in DC is pervasive.
Also, Rep. West said a few months back that “ - - -Obama”care” needs to be repealed and replaced.”
If West supports the latter, then he will insure the former, and he would then be just another pro-debt RINO, another good man thrown into the bottomless pit of our sorry political system.
My questions were placed to warn us to look for the early signs of debt-decay in Col. West.
BTW, as you know, the disease of Debt-Decay is chronic to all who contract it - - . Sad, but true. ( The latter point might be considered by some to be sarcastic and/or humorous).
