At the top of Tuesday's O'Reilly Factor on Fox News, host Bill O'Reilly rightly observed "the American media overwhelmingly favoring Barack Obama over Mitt Romney" and predicted that the slanted news coverage "will give the President about 3% or 4% of the popular vote" in the general election.
O'Reilly cited numerous studies over several years that demonstrated the media predisposition that "clearly favors the more liberal candidate, and has for decades." In 2004, then-assistant managing editor of Newsweek magazine, Evan Thomas, made a prediction remarkably similar to O'Reilly's when he admitted that media bias in favor Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry was "going to be worth maybe 15 points," a number he revised down to five points months later.
On Tuesday, O'Reilly explained the electoral impact of the media being in the tank for the Democratic Party:
...it gives the Democrats a major advantage because their agenda whether it's bashing Mitt Romney or promoting the President will be covered far more extensively than the Republican agenda. Second, stories that make the President look bad will be played down in the national press. While anything Mitt Romney does will be described as a gaffe, a mistake or just plane dumb.
A clear example of that can be seen in the refusal by NBC, ABC, and CBS to cover a nasty and false pro-Obama ad that suggests Romney contributed to a woman's death from cancer, while at the same time promoting the President's resurrection of the GOP "war on women" meme.
O'Reilly led the Talking Points Memo segment by referencing a Monday discussion with media critic Bernie Goldberg, who told viewers: "Look, obviously journalists are Barack Obama's most loyal base. They will not abandon him and they've got too much invested in him."
Much of that discussion centered around a Media Research Center study that found that 86% of the network news coverage of Romney's recent overseas trip focused on supposed gaffes and missteps rather than on the substance of the trip itself.
With a substantial financial advantage, Romney should be able to win comfortably, even the youth vote.
Sample ad:
Obama will give all you young people free contraception, among many madates inflicted on employers. But don’t count on a job anytime soon.
Mitt Romney would rather get you a good-paying job so that you can purchase your own contraception with your own paycheck. And your employer can hire more people.
So which would you rather have: contraception from Obama, or a job from Romney?
I remember when these same lamestream media gave Carter a 10 point lead in October of that year. Then when election time came, it was over by 9 o’clock that evening, with Reagan winning 49 states. Then what did we get from same media? All kinds of excuses on why they called it wrong. So, I will let all of these so called “NEWS PUNDITS” read their tea leaves and ponder their belly buttons. I’ll wait until the election is over. In the mean while I’ll fight like hell to get OBAMA thrown out

O’Reilly is complicit in the media’s bias due to his continual kissing of 0bama’s ass hoping to land another interview.
You think likeability and competence have ANYTHING to do with making money? You have got to be kidding. Let’s talk Paris Hilton, among a GAZILLION others. And saying that someone else is worse (even if it IS Hussein) has absolutely nothing to do with how bad “our” guy is.
It did for him.
I’ve got a bucket full of things I don’t like about Mitt. But I do not have a single thing I like about Obama or the Democrat party and if my small company is to survive Obama must go. We gave to Perry, Gingrich & Santoruum but like you said “Mitt won”.
Don’t like it but we’ll give to a superpac that is fighting a dirty war to remove the scumbag muzzy Obama. I’ll not give a dime to the RNC or Mitt but will give all I can to Tea Party groups and pacs that understand exactly what we’re fighting for.
Mitt will win by default and had better do as promised and gut this government, throw out Obamacare and change our tax code. Then he’ll not only get my vote for 2016 but will also get my donations.
For now he only has my vote and that is by “Default”.

I sure hope that’s what happens, but Romney is no Reagan and that may significantly change the outcome. Romney is wooden on the stump and is usually in hiding rather than running.
Are your coworkers by any chance freepers?
You are describing a lot of Obama’s fans here.
Paris Hilton never started a company or met a payroll. She is an heiress of the Hilton hotel chain and made a sex tape. Why would you compare anyone to her? Mitt Romney somehow won the Republican presidential nomination, deal with reality, not what could have been.
I try not to waste my time on these bitter, drivel driven comments, but sometimes I can't resist.
Again, my belief is that people of your sullen ilk are major controllers of those around you. You didn't get your way in the primaries (neither did I) and you can't function and would run out in traffic to let people know of your displeasure if you thought you would not get hurt.
You are thrashing around, lashing out over something you can't control. I pity people like you and those around you whose lives you make equally miserable.
Larry Sabato agreed with OReilly that there is a lot of bias in the media, but said he was exaggerating the impact on undecided voters.
If I recall correctly Sabato said it’s more like 1%.
“The real danger is all the votes Obama bought with welfare, food stamps, Medicaid, bailouts and other largess.”
He has already locked-up the black, Hispanic, female and now the gay vote.
Romney is not a shoe-in...not by a long shot.
Expect Democrat turn out to be very low this year. The youth vote will not turn out for the Kenyan this time. It will probably be more like 2010 again.
Maybe it’s just that you’re surrounded by a lot of educated liberal fools.
Personally, I haven’t talked to anyone who is voting for him, and that includes some foolish relatives that fell for it hook, line, and sinker 4 years ago.
My sentiments as well. I firmly believe he can be "gotten to" and the GOP has some highly talented people, that if given half a chance could lite his fuse. However, in the tradition of the GOP candidates no personal attacks will take place and if anyone should offend the jug eared mulatto, a prompt apology and request for forgiveness will be issued. They will bow to Obama as Obama did to the King of Saudi Arabia!!
“Mitt will win by default and had better do as promised and gut this government, throw out Obamacare and change our tax code.”
Freebies have never been repealed. Newt was able to roll them back in the 90s but freebies have NEVER been repealed.
Romney is a totally unprincipled scalawag who wets his finger, sticks in the air and goes with the flow. Don’t expect too much from him if, by chance, he happens to win.
I predict that the real onslaught is being held back until after the convention. Love him or hate him Romney is no idiot. They have a plan and it’s being executed on their timeline not ours. Be patient.
Amen to that. Romney is simply waiting in the weeds to pounce.
