No registered provider is allowed to make "any material change to its operations or governance structure," the bill says, without the commission's approval. The commission can also rewrite the terms of provider contracts with insurers and payment levels and methods if they are "deemed to be excessive."

"SEVERELY conservative."

No fan of Romney care, but this is a brand new law passed by a Democrat state house and state senate, and signed by a Democrat governor. This was NOT part of the health care bill that Romney signed.

I hate Romneycare as much as I hate Obamacare

BUT

The 50-year run of paying for hospital and physician services with OPM is coming to an end.

It is inevitable, even just, that if you are taxing a man by force to pay for someone else’s doctor visit or hospital stay, that the man has some say in how his money is to be spent.

Hmmm.....maybe there will be one less red state soon. The old liberals will be rationed out of their “free” health care. There are always unintended consequences in government-run “services.”

In other words, the commission is empowered to control the practice and organization of medicine.

That's gonna piss off the insurance companies, which have been doing just that for years.

This is a surprise only to those ignorant of history; the State Machinery of a Marxist government invariably expands until it border on - and eventually crosses - the line of tyranny.

Wonder what the Founders think of all this....

I'd have more respect for Mittens if he would just come out and admit that romneycare was a huge mistake that is not working.

He might even be able to get my vote.
