Same thing happening in Texas. Lived up there in OP and Lenexa for many years and except for the State Line area and part of Mission Hills it always seemed pretty conservative. But that was a different era. Shawnee Mission had great schools and was awesome place to raise family. Still have some Jewish friends up there but only because we do not ever discuss politics.
It's eerie around Christmas, on one block, there is only one house that shows any sign of Christmas, though in much of the other blocks, houses and yards are lit up like it's a retail space - just no Christian values just phony religiosity.
Of course the area churches preach social justice and "doing good (peanut butter Sundays peak off the charts)."
I see a ridiculous number of California license plates out here in West Texas....former Kansan also as my name would indicate. Really miss Kansas a lot (especially the scenery with it so brown and dry out here but even KS is awful this summer as well)....very proud of this primary!
