I don't understand the problem some have with Michele McPhee's voice. Maybe it's because I lived in Boston most of my life and this is just the way a lot of people talk - especially from the East Boston area.
She's not as conservative as I would like but on most issues, she's okay.

I was born and raised in Roxbury many many moons ago - I have lived in MA all my life (except for 8 years) and she is only the second person I’ve ever heard with that God awful voice. I’ve never heard anyone from Eastie who sounds like mcphee! It’s worse than nails on a blackboard. I wonder how long before Todd leaves!

It's not the accent so much as the pitch. She overcompensates by raising her voice. While I rarely listen to sports radio or watch ESPN (Linda Cohn is a national example), 98.5 has a guy named Tony who is also a screecher. He gets too excited for talking about whether the starting pitcher faced one too many batters the prior night. Important stuff there. It's a matter of taste, different strokes for different folks.
