You forgot to put “/sarc” in your posting. The tea partiers I know like Sikhs and their attitudes about things in general. Nikki Haley (born a Sikh) was put over the top by tea partiers and Sarah Palin.
I'm not sure a /sarc tag would have helped, but you have a point, since Orwell's 1984 is probably no longer required reading in high school.

If the views I have seen expressed on FR are Tea Party views, and I think they are, then Tea Partiers admire Sikhs to the limited extent that they pay attention to Sikhs at all. There is no animosity.
