A police officer who is a 20-year law enforcement veteran responded to the scene and confronted a gunman outstide the temple. The officer was shot multiple times, Wendlandt said. Earlier, at least four people were seen covered on the ground outside the temple. The temple's president was among those shot, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported.
Sukhwindar Nagr, of Racine, said he called his brother-in-law's phone and a priest at the temple answered, The Associated Press reported. Nagr said the priest told him that his brother-in-law had been shot

A temple committee member, Ven Boba Ri, told the Journal-Sentinel that people inside the temple described the shooter was a white male in his 30s.
"We have no idea," he said of the motive. "It's pretty much a hate crime. It's not an insider."
Ri told the Journal-Sentinel the gunman walked up to a priest who was standing outside the temple and shot him. Then he went inside and started shooting.

“Mayor Rahm Emanuel recognized the high crime presence earlier this month when he proposed a gun control ordinance. Police Supt. Garry McCarthy this week said he is encouraged by the falling crime rates. The 49 homicides in July were six less than the previous year, McCarthy.”
He seriously said this?
Just more Chicago values being demonestrated, my FRiend. Always remmber, Chic-Fil-a’s values are not Chicago’s values as none other than His honor,Rahlm Emanuel proclaimed.
Has the lame-stream media begun to speculate whom the shooter might be: A right-wing extremist; a white Hispanic; a Romney supporter; a Republican; a Christian; a TEA Party member; an NRA member; a talk-radio junkie; or just an angry white guy.
Mass violence is commonplace at Sikh temples.
Nothing unusual here.
I think some nut snapped and fired on a bunch of innocent people. And I assume you think this is some kind of conspiracy hatched by Obama and/or his supporters. With zero evidence.
How are they linked?
Everybody knows before anybody knows. Curious.

India today said its embassy in Washington has been in touch with the US National Security Council on the tragic incident of firing inside a Gurudwara in Wisconsin that left at least seven people dead.
Indian Ambassador to the US Nirupama Rao said that an official has been deputed to rush to the site to ascertain the situation on-the-spot.
Upto seven people were killed and several others injured when at least three gunmen opened fire at the Gurudwara in Wisconsin in a coordinated attack during morning prayers.
US President Barack Obama was also briefed by his counter-terrorism advisor John Brennan on the situation and the White House is seized of the matter, US officials said.
“We have seen reports on the tragic incident earlier today of firing at a group of worshipers in a Gurudwara in the Milwaukee suburb of Oak Creek, Wisconsin,” Rao said in a statement.
“The Embassy is seized of the situation and has been in touch with the National Security Council in Washington,” she said.
Rao said the Indian Consulate General in Chicago too has been in close touch with the local authorities to monitor the situation.
If there is a 3rd incident, maybe another soft target like a theater or religious site. A place that is a gun-free zone.
They are, but they are not to be messed with either. If this guy is part of a group, that group best watch it's back...Or maybe I could watch it for them, so I can applaud when a Sikh puts a knife in it.
Many are police or security here. In India they are in the military way out of proportion to their numbers especially in the officer corps.
In another story I read they said it was one shooter-so is it 1 or 3 shooters?
Oh yeah, he seriously said that. Just breathtaking.
And then there is Rahm. This violence caused by too many guns. Downstate there are many more guns, yet it is a huge story when one is used in a crime. Not the guns, the culture to blame.

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today described as “deeply painful and shocking” the attack by gunmen on devotees at a Gurudwara in the US and urged the authorities there to ensure that the sanctity of religious shrines is maintained.
Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal is monitoring the situation in New Delhi and will take up the issue with the Union Government, an official spokesperson said here tonight.
The incident of firing in Gurdwara in Oak Creek is “deeply painful, shocking and highly condemnable”. The Chief Minister has urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to intervene in the matter immediately and ask the US authorities to ensure security of devotees and the sanctity of the religious shrines all across America, the spokesman said.
The temple has a huge sign “Sikh Temple”.
The big anti religion/gay rights gang is active these days! This is not Islamic terrorism but the feds are never gonna tell us the truth.
A theory, most call it common sense or until there is evidence to prove otherwise.
Series!
No way, did Mayor Rahm thinking he was moving to Shangrila (sic). He knew crime was rampant in Chicago way before he was running for da’ mayorship.
Indeed....common sense is not so common around here sometimes.
