DETROIT (AP) -- Abandoned and neglected parts of Detroit are quickly becoming dumping grounds for the bodies of murder victims. And authorities acknowledge there's little they can do. At least a dozen bodies have turned up in 12 months, many of them purposely hidden or discarded in alleys, fields and vacant houses or garages. Seven of the dead are believed to have been slain outside Detroit and then dumped within the city.

For example, examining streets buried by grass and detritus and mapping how residents create new streets by driving through lots instead of following the old grid pattern, as well spoliation (removing & reusing architectural features from old buildings) and fortification of existing buildings.
The point of the article was that Detroit provided good examples of the process that transformed abandoned cities at the end of the Roman Empire.
I’m driving through Detroit in early Sept. Thinking of driving down infamous W Robinwood Street for no better reason than to say I did.

What happened to the good old days, when Detroit was the murder capital? I mean, this stinks by comparison. ;’)
Detroit is armed. Still lots being killed but a good many who are being killed had it comin.
I also noticed that the story says the bodies are being imported rather than locally produced.
Hey, “what’s deservin’ got to do with it?” :’) In the good old days, the local supply was more than sufficient, none of this relyin’ on a bunch of snot-nosed out-of-town killers.
This outsourcing crap is bull puckey. I blame competition from Chicago.
A friend of mine says he wants to take a pile of people and have a safari in Detroit. I don’t know what he means but it doesn’t sound good.
